No injuries or missing persons have been reported following heavy rain in the UAE, according to the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA).

The authority said that 167 Emiratis from Kalba have been sheltered in a hotel in Fujairah. A total of 28 families consisting of 558 people were also provided with shelter in Fujairah.

NCEMA also said that 24 families in Al Ain have been accommodated at a hotel located in the city.

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will bear the expenses to shelter 188 people who have been affected by rain in Al Ain and Fujairah.

The move comes as per the directives of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and President of ERC.

ERC immediately implemented the orders of Shaikh Hamdan, as teams of volunteers were dispatched in areas that were severely affected by rainy weather conditions. The teams evacuated 140 people in Al Ain and 48 people in Kalba, providing them with accommodations in a number of hotels. Meals were also distributed to around 600 people affected by the rain in Fujairah, who were also provided with accommodations by the specialised authorities.

The ERC said that it is coordinating with the NCEMA, Civil Defence, police, and other relevant bodies to ensure that the affected people are given the necessary care until they are able to return to their homes.
