Wall Street stocks rode a solid jobs report to fresh records Friday, with technology shares especially sky-bound following strong Apple earnings and a report of a possible semiconductor chip merger.

All three major indices ended at records, with the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index up 0.7 percent at the closing bell to 6,763.54. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1 percent to end at 23,537.86, its second straight record, while the broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent to 2,587.84
