Two young girls were among eight survivors found Friday in the ruins of an Italian hotel buried by an avalanche two days earlier, police said.

Rescuers are combing through the snow-covered ruins in the search for at least 25 people thought to have been in the hotel when the avalanche hit it on Wednesday afternoon.
