Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

New York City seemed a little more heavenly Tuesday, as 44 angels gathered in The Big Apple for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015.

Between Behati Prinsloo, Gigi Hadid and newcomer Kendall Jenner, the event was a hit, both backstage and on the catwalk. “Jenner, 20, who is making her VS Fashion Week debut, worked the scene wearing a striped robe while her brunette tresses were all done up in rollers,” reported Us Weekly.

“But of course, she wasn’t alone. While Jenner shared a back shot of herself and some of the Angels dolling themselves up in the ‘boys  room,’ her mom, Kris Jenner, posted a cute snap of her daughter with Hadid, 20, playing with the PINK label’s stuffed dogs.’”

Though the event will not air until Dec. 8 on CBS, the website has been revealing short clips all day of what is to come. Even Prinsloo, 26, worked the room as if it were a gentlemen’s club, standing on a table in a tiny bra and panties. But it was not all smiles just days before the show at the annual auditions, according toPeople. Hadid had a bit of an emotional moment that was filmed and posted on the Victoria’s Secret YouTube page.

“Showing footage of several models auditioning for the coveted televised event, as well as extended footage from the 20-year-old’s own tryout,” who made the cut.  “After Ed Razek, an executive producer, invited her to take part in the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she crouched down to the floor in disbelief. ‘Really?!’ she exclaimed,” reports People. “She then got up quickly, walked over to him and got a hug and a kiss on the cheek while others clapped.”

Even after a decade of being dubbed an Angel, making the cut still feels cutthroat according to Brazilian model Izabel Goulart, “a 31-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel who has walked the runway in every Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since 2005.”

“Every year it feels like it’s the very, very first show and one thing that I do all year long is really try to…to work as hard as I can,” said Goulart crying after she was given a nod in the show once again. “So I can deserve to be here, to be a part of the moment that only happens at the show, at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

Not needing to audition, Selena Gomez, The Weekend and Ellie Goulding will perform at the event, adding some music to the annual magic.  As for the other models who come to audition from as far as Peru, Denmark and Nepal, well they too assuredly deserve to be an Angel for a day.

“Casting director John Pfeiffer said in the behind-the-scenes video that between 400 and 500 models were submitted to him for consideration in the show and that he met more than 300 on the first day of casting. Only 44 made the cut,” reports People, adding returning models  and “fan favorites,” Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel will be back.

Executive producer Monica Mitro said Hadid and Goulart were not the only ones who got giddy or emotional. “There were several that were either fighting back tears or literally crying here today,” said Mitro. “Because there’s such a buildup, and they’ve been working for it and wanting it so badly.”

And as for the Mouawad designed $2 million dollar bra, Lily Aldridgewho is the lucky, or rather blessed, Angel to wear the brazier this year.
