Armani Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between Italian designer Giorgio Armani and Dubai’s Emaar Properties, said Tuesday it will open its second hotel in Milan on November 10.Located in the Manzoni 31 building, in Milan’s world-famous couture district, the Giorgio Armani-designed Armani Hotel Milano will feature 95 guestrooms and suites. In June the hotel group confirmed it was looking to hire 180 international staff to operate the Milan hotel.Management said they are looking to recruit internationally but all applicants must be fluent in both Italian and English. The November 10 official opening follows the launch of the hotel brand in April 2010, with the opening of the first ever Armani hotel — the Armani Hotel Dubai – in Emaar’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.Armani and Emaar entered into partnership in 2005 to operate and develop Armani-branded hotels, resorts and residences around the world. Mark Dardenne, former CEO of Armani Hotels & Resorts, told Arabian Business in October last year the company was planning a third hotel, but did not specify the location. “It’s only being designed now,” Dardenne said and named Paris, New York and Marrakesh as potential locations for the property. In February, Armani denied it was planning to open a third branded hotel in Russia, following reports it had signed a $150m deal to open a property in the Russian resort of Stavropol.
