Google is once again celebrating Morocco’s independence day, this time with a “doodle” on its homepage featuring the “outstanding” architecture of Ksar Aït Ben Haddou in Ouarzazate province.

The site is a prominent example of southern Moroccan architecture and is a familiar spot to many foreigners, as it has been used as a backdrop for many movies and shows in recent years.

While hovering the mouse over the doodle, you can see “Anniversaire de l’indépendance du Maroc” in Morocco’s Google homepage. Once you click on it, it leads you to a Google search page showing several links related to Morocco’s independence.

Google Doodles are decorative changes made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, scientists and athletes and can vary from a country to another.

Morocco celebrates its independence on November 18, which marked the end of the French and Spanish occupation. The celebration comes two weeks after the yearly commemoration of the Green March.
