Partial lunar eclipse

The UAE and several other countries in Arab region, Africa, Central Asia, Europe and northern parts of South America, witnessed on Monday evening a partial lunar eclipse.

The eclipse began at 15: 50 GMT, and the moon started entering the shadow region at 17: 23 GMT when the eclipse was clearly visible to observers.

A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. Only part of the Moon's visible surface moves into the Earth's shadow
