One child was killed and other citizens, including an old man, were injured as a mortar shell, launched by rebels, fell near a gas station in al-Sheikh Saad in al-Mezzah, while several more died in a car bomb attack in a Damascus countryside.
A source at the Police Command said that a mortar shell fell on a house near the gas station, causing the death of an 11-year-old child and the injury of an 8-year-old child and old man who were rushed to hospital.
The source added that the terrorist attack also caused material damage to the house.
Earlier, three citizens were killed and others wounded when rebels detonated a car loaded with large amounts of explosives in Kanaker town in Damascus countryside.
A source at the Police Command said that an armed group detonated the car near al-Omari Mosque in Kanaker town, causing the death of three citizens, including a father and his son, and the injury of 10 others, among them women and children.
The car bomb cause large-scale damage in the area, the source added.

Rebels fired a mortar shell on al-Faiha\'a stadium in Damascus, causing material damage. An official source at the Police Command said that a shell fell on the basketball court inside the stadium, causing huge material damage to equipment, without any casualties.
