President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his visiting French counterpart Francois Hollande inspected the lined-up guard of honor at the Quba presidential palace with a 21-gun salute .

The national anthem of both countries was then played.

Following the official welcome ceremony, Hollande shook hands with a number of senior Egyptian statesmen and government members.

Sisi greeted the French’s president accompanying delegation.

A group of children raised the Egyptian and French flags during the ceremony. 

Hollande arrived here in Cairo on Sunday for a three-day visit.
