Ajman Chamber of Commerce discusses arrangements for Ajman Corporate

The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, is organising the Ajman Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, Summit 2017, this November.

Through the event, the Chamber will address the opportunities available for all companies to adopt the CSR concept as a key element in their development strategy. The ACCI held a co-ordinative meeting to discuss the mechanisms of organising the summit.

The meeting was chaired by Nasser Al Dhafri, Executive Director of Planning and Member Support, in the presence of Eman Al Shamsi, Director of CSR and Members Support Department at the Ajman Chamber, along with a number of Chamber employees and representatives of companies co-operating in organising the summit, including the Mosaiclive and Sustainable Square Consultancy.

During the meeting, Al Dhafri stressed the importance of the summit, which is the first of its kind in the emirate of Ajman. He noted that it will witness participation of a number of ministers, senior government officials and representatives of major companies in the country, along with CSR experts from both private and public interest sectors.

The summit aims to raise the awareness of the private sector on the concepts and principles of CSR and develop the concept of sustainability in the business sector. It will also underscore the importance of the private institutions as a key partner in the overall sustainable development process, he said.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed all the organisation’s procedures, including the tools used in the summit, and the recycled and eco-friendly products of many entrepreneurs that will be showcased on the sidelines.

The summit will feature three sessions the "Year of Giving," "CSR and Private Sector" and "Spirit of Volunteerism."

The CSR Centre of Ajman, subsidiary of Ajman Chamber, seeks to raise awareness among the community on the importance of CSR and underline its role in maintaining sustainability and achieving the ambitious plans and visions. The Centre further aims to strengthen interdependence between the public and private sectors and integrate various roles towards CSR initiatives to ensure happiness and well-being of individuals and achieve the Ajman Vision 2021.
