The Interior Ministry on Monday stressed its commitment to all legal measures when dealing with suspects, after the arrest of a lawyer triggered controversy.
In a statement, the ministry said the case of lawyer Ibrahim Abdel Moneim Ali Ahmed was inaccurately reported by the media.
It added that the lawyer, from Sharqiya governorate, was arrested upon an order by the Supreme State Security Prosecution that questioned him and ordered him to be remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigations.
The suspect was sent to Tora prison in line with the prosecution's decision, it said.
