Justice Minister Ahmed el Zend said on Thursday that the cabinet has approved new amendments to police law no. 109/1971.

Speaking to press, the minister said the draft would be passed to the Egyptian Council of State after review of the cabinet. 

The amendments suggested formation of a new committee to review the final text of the law.

The law aims at providing protection for the policemen on duty taking into account preservation of human rights.
