Algerian creative artists Nesma Shams Design

Algerian creative artists Nesma Shams said that she had abandoned dental surgery and chose to specialize in arts due to her passion of colors and decoration, adding that she became a professional antiques designer after only three years. She also managed to promote her works over social media networks, mainly through her Facebook page.

Shams said in an interview with Arabs Today that she became professional decoration designer after three years of work, noting that she did not receive any training. She added that she started her career by painting on glass and pottery, and then started painting on wood, pointing out that creating woody figures is the oldest art in history.

Shams said that she have mastered her work and she can design beautiful woody figures in no time, noting that the demand on her works increased significantly from the Algerian women who become more interested in historic decoration.

She concluded that she tries to preserve the cultural heritage of and add a modern touch to her works inspired by historic symbols in the Ottoman era such as inscriptions in Algerian palaces. Shams participated in many international exhibitions organized in Algeria, most recently in the 19th edition of the International Exhibition of traditional industries, as well as a number of exhibitions hosted by a number of luxury hotels in Algeria.
