Four people were wounded in clashes between residents and pro-Morsi supporters in Samalout late on Tuesday.
A march by Morsi loyalists in protest against the new Constitution and considering the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group set off at Sharia Mosque. When the march reached Maasara area, verbal clashes took place between the protesters and the residents but quickly degenerated into stone-throwing scuffles.
One shop facade was damaged in the clashes, forcing the police to interfere and fire tear gas to disperse them.
A number of rioters were arrested.
