Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover

Shares on the Muscat bourse recovered and the MSM30 Index gained 0.31 per cent to close the session at 5,055.65 points. The MSM Sharia Index ended at 732.87 points, down by 0.04 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was United Power, up by 9.86 per cent while the top loser was Muscat Finance, with a loss of 2.63 per cent.

A total number of 764 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR1.75 million with 11.61 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded securities, 15 advanced, 5 declined and 19 remained unchanged. Local Investors remained net buyers for OMR250,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR229,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR21,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index advanced 0.58 per cent to close at 7,282.64 points. Al Sharqia Investment, Al Anwar Holding, Al Madina Investment, Gulf Investment Services and Ahli Bank increased by 3.81 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.75 per cent, 1.30 per cent and 1.25 per cent, respectively. Muscat Finance and Oman Qatar Insurance declined by 2.63 per cent and 1.32 per cent, respectively.

Industry Index closed at 6,842.39 points, up by 0.60 per cent. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Al Jazeera Steel added 6.6 per cent, 2.56 per cent and 1.2 per cent, respectively.

 

Services Index gained 0.40 per cent to close at 2,556.56 points. United Power, National Gas, OIFC and Renaissance Services increased by 9.86 per cent, 7.36 per cent, 3.65 per cent and 0.95 per cent, respectively. Al Jazeera Services, Phoenix Power and Omantel declined by 1.39 per cent, 0.74 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively.
