Egypt's intervention has returned the situation in the Gaza Strip to the way it was before the Israeli military escalation at the border started, Hamas political bureau member Moussa Abu Marzouk said.
In a Facebook post, Abu Marzouk said the Egyptian side was contacted and its response was immediate and serious and has restored the matters to pre-escalation conditions.
Israel launched an airstrike on Palestinian forces on the Gaza Strip near the southern city of Rafah.
The airstrikes came a day after the two sides traded fire, with Israeli tanks shelling the Palestinian enclave, saying it was in response to mortar fire from Gaza.
