Afghan forces kill 7 militants in northern province

Security forces raided Taliban hideouts in Tabar area of Sangcharak district in the northern Sari Pul province Saturday night, killing seven insurgents, Nasratullah Jamshidi, a spokesman for the army in the northern region said Sunday.
Acting upon intelligence report, the security forces, according to the official, raided Taliban hideouts in Tabar area on late Saturday night, killing seven insurgents on the spot and injuring two others.
According to the official, the security forces have also pounded militants' positions in Dawlat Abad and Shirin Tagab districts in the neighboring Faryab provinces.
Taliban outfit has yet to make comments.
