Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Abdullah Khalaf stressed the ministry's keenness on the provision of improved quality service to individual citizens and the entire community as the ministry's top priority in the forthcoming period.
The minister's remarks came as he honoured ministry staff members who underwent advanced training courses and obtained certification in Internal Auditing and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
He said the ministry's keenness was based on the directives of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, with constant support and follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to develop the standard of ministry-provided services to citizens and residents through a suit of procedures, the application of quality management systems as one of the ministry's strategies for sustainable development. 
He added that we believe in the importance of the human resources as the backbone of this organization and we have always been keen on building and developing our capabilities to meet the requirements of the upcoming phase of municipal, urban, agricultural and services progress. Hence, the minister has honoured this segment of the ministry employees who have undergone general and advanced level courses in the field of quality management (internal quality management) as part of the ministry's quality system management buildup. 
He added that one of the key outcomes of the Government Forum2016 was implemented under the auspices of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister with follow up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, catering for citizens' needs, the provision of services and streamlining the ministry's procedures for issuance of licensures according to highest degree of transparency and competitiveness. He affirmed the ministry's keenness on implementing this vision and translating it into practical realty, most importantly in its quality management system.
