Russia charges theatre director Serebrennikov with 'massive fraud'

Acclaimed Russian theatre and film director Kirill Serebrennikov was charged with fraud on Tuesday, the Russian Investigative Committee said after detaining him earlier in the day.
"Serebrennikov has been charged with the crime of massive fraud," the committee said in a statement, saying the director stole at least 68 million rubles ($1.15 million).
Serebrennikov denied the charges, the statement added.
