Cairo – Sumayya Ibrahim

Egypt TV has signed a deal with producer Ismail Kutkut to buy and broadcast his new TV drama “Youth pages” this Ramadan. This drama is the first of its kind to tackle the events of the January 25th revolution. The six part and 90 episode series is a joint production between Farah Media Productions and Gulf-Lebanese Charisma Productions owned by producer Ayman Alzyood. The first two parts of the drama will be broadcast during Ramadan. The first part,  “One hand” , was written by Tareq Rayhan and directed by Ezzedine Said.  The storyline revolves around a conflict that arises between members of an Egyptian family which has a monopoly over one of Egypt’s industries, but experiences a dramatic turn of events when the 25th January revolution takes place. The second part will be titled “Morning door” and focuses on what actually happened during the January 25th revolution. The spotlight shines on the separate story of each individual youth making their way to the square and the suffering, prejudice, and oppression they were subjected to. The show also narrates their humiliation as they fought for the simplest rights, leading them to feeling extremely angry and rebellious. The drama stars Ahmed Fouad Saleem, Tarmeen Maher, Amro Mahmoud Yaseen, Husam Fares and Dunia Al Masri.
