Spavia receives \'Day Spa of the Year\' award

Spavia is honored to receive the “Day Spa of the Year” award from Image Skincare. “Our guests deserve the best, and at Spavia we take great care in choosing which products to put on or guest’s skin to help them achieve the results they are looking for,” says Spavia President, Allison Langenderfer. “We put extensive research into the product lines that we use, and Image Skincare has consistently provided optimal results.” The Image Skin Care line consists of natural and safe products that never use chemical preservatives like parabens. The use of parabens as preservatives in cosmetics and skin care products is controversial. There are clinical studies suggesting that parabens have potential health risks, including estrogen activity. Image Skincare was one of the first companies that started removing parabens from its product line beginning in early 2007, making them an obvious choice when Spavia considered what skin care companies to partner with. “At Spavia, educating our guests is so important,” explains Langenderfer, “There are so many product lines out there that don’t have the active ingredients in them required to truly make a difference in a person’s skin.” Many over-the-counter products include parabens, and other potentially harmful ingredients that are not beneficial to the skin. Through major marketing efforts, companies still manage to convince the public that these products are worth a try. This often leaves users feeling frustrated that the products they are using aren’t delivering the results that were promised.
