The Beaumont
London - Arab Today

The Beaumont hotel in London, opened by the same restaurateurs behind popular addresses such as The Wolseley and The Delaunay, has been named the best new luxury hotel in 2014.
Experts at Luxury Travel Intelligence, a members’ only organization that provides reports for affluent travelers, praised The Beaumont for its Art Deco-inspired rooms, warm and welcoming suites and on-site restaurant The Colony Grill Room, which has become one of the hottest reservations in town this year, they said.
After several delays, partners Chris Corbin and Jeremy King opened the doors to The Beaumont -- the first hotel in their Corbin & King portfolio --  in the tony neighborhood of Mayfair, minutes from Bond Street and Hyde Park.
The boutique hotel features 50 rooms, 13 studios and 10 suites.
Rounding out the top five new hotel openings for 2014 on the list are Portrait, Florence; the refurbished Loews Regency, New York; Four Seasons, Moscow; and Maalifushi, Maldives.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, the Shangri-La London earned the dubious distinction of being named the worst new luxury hotel of 2014, for its “disastrous design fault.” Overall, editors were unimpressed with the lackluster room decor -- “on par with the average London 4 out of 5-star hotel” -- and direct views into neighboring rooms.
Here are the top 10 new luxury hotel openings of 2014 according to LTI:
1. Beaumont, London
2. Portrait, Florence
3. Loews Regency, New York
4. Four Seasons, Moscow
5. Maalifushi, Maldives
6. Cape Weligama, Sri Lanka
7. Raffles, Istanbul
8. Four Seasons, Dubai (Jumeirah Beach)
9. Waldorf Astoria, Amsterdam
10. Cromlix House, Scotland
