Dubai - Arabstoday
Standing at a height of 442m on level 122 of the Burj Khalifa, At.mosphere has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the highest restaurant in the world. At a presentation today in the restaurant’s lounge, members of the Emaar Properties board were presented with the award, as well as awards for the world’s tallest building and the world’s tallest manmade structure for the Burj Khalifa, and the world’s largest shopping centre for the Dubai Mall. The Emaar group already holds one record for the world’s largest acrylic panel, which can be found in the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, making five records in total. Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties said: “We are honoured to be recognised with the Guinness World Records for our iconic developments. The records are a true demonstration of Dubai’s ability to innovate, and add to our city’s civic pride.” The Burj Khalifa, which is made up of 330,000 sq m of concrete, 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement, 15,500 sq m of stainless steel and 103,000 sq m of glass took 22 million man hours to build.
