Issam Jaafari
Jeddah - Arab Today

It was Moroccan chef Issam Jaafari who had the perfect recipe of success as he was crowned the winner of Top Chef in the first Arabic edition of the cooking show.
In the ‘Top Chef Middle East’ finale, the winner competed against two talented Syrian and Egyptian chefs for the title. Issam made the cut, beating 15 contestants from the MENA region in the gruelling 13-week long competition.
Chef Issam left the Top Chef kitchen with a $100,000 check, a Cadillac XT5 car, a full spread in Hospitality News magazine, as well as the opportunity to participate in a renowned hospitality industry fair, reported Al-Bawaba.
Issam’s winning dishes were judged by three of the most famous culinary experts in the Arab world: Egyptian-Chinese chef Bobby Chinn, Saudi chef Mona Mosli and Lebanese chef Maroun Chedid.
The show, originally an American series that first aired on Bravo TV in 2006, ended on last Thursday. It first aired in its Arabic version in 2012 on ABC, before moving on to Rotana TV and then this year to MBC.
