Dubai - Arabstoday

Enzo Ferrari's flamboyant sports cars epitomise performance, passion and, above all, exclusivity. But that doesn't stop hobby designers around the world from creating their individual piece of Ferrari-inspired magic on the latest digital-design software, then showing it to the outside world using social media. Enter the Ferrari Celeritas concept: an ultra-low, high-performance roadster conceived by a design student and keen blogger named Aldo Schurmann. Advertisement: Story continues below Latin for ''swiftness'' or ''speed'', the Celeritas draws on Ferrari's discontinued two-seater coupe, the F430 Scuderia, which was succeeded last year by the $500,000-plus 458 Italia. ''It has all the hallmarks of the [Ferrari F430] Scuderia - a low profile, sweeping wheel arches, a visible engine in the rear - but each has been turned up to 11,'' Schurmann says. The car's most dominant features are its exaggerated wheel arches, which rise from the comparatively flat body like a roller coaster. ''The wheel arches tower over the Celeritas and are nearly as tall as the driving position,'' Schurmann says. ''The rear sprawls behind the driver and passenger cabin, encompassing two large spoilers that move independently to increase and decrease downforce.'' While Schurmann doesn't go into engine specifications for his creation, the pictures suggest the car could fit a mid-mounted V12 similar to Ferrari's ultra-exclusive Enzo flagship, for which a replacement is expected next year. While the Celeritas won't be storming out of the Maranello gates any time soon, the design may well end up on some young car nut's bedroom walls.
