Sister networks A&E and LMN say they will air a pair of documentaries focusing on the criminal and civil trials of former football great O.J. Simpson.
The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case: The Untold Story is to premiere on LMN Sept. 30, while O.J. Speaks: The Hidden Tapes will debut Oct. 1 on A&E.
The programs' airdates are timed to the 20th anniversary of Simpson's acquittal in the knife slayings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. A jury in a civil trial later found Simpson responsible for the wrongful deaths of his ex-wife and her friend.
"Two decades later, shocking recordings and interviews, much of which have never been heard until now, are revealed in the new A&E and LMN documentaries. Lawrence Schiller, filmmaker, author and close confidant to [Simpson attorney] Robert Kardashian, shares his unique and exclusive access into the case and trials against Simpson," the networks said in a news release.
Simpson, 68, is serving a prison sentence for an unrelated, armed, 2007 confrontation with sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel. It is possible he could be paroled in 2017.
