Zattoo expands HDTV line-up

Internet TV platform Zattoo offers more channels in high-definition: Subscribers of premium package Zattoo HiQ in Germany and Switzerland can now receive all HD channels provided by German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. In Switzerland, the line-up additionally includes the HD versions of public channels SF1, SFzwei, RTS un, RTS deux, RSI La1 and RSI La2. All HD channels are offered as live-streams both on the website zattoo.com and within the Zattoo applications for the iPhone and iPad. With the VideoWeb TV box, the channels can also be watched directly on the conventional TV set. The users of the advertising-financed free version will also benefit from higher resolution: During the Euro 2012 football championship Zattoo will transmit its complete range of channels in almost twice the resolution – a service which has so far been restricted to subscribers of the HiQ service. Zattoo commenced distribution of HD channels in April 2012. So far, only public channels Das Erste HD, ZDF HD and ARTE HD had been offered in Germany.
