In pursuit of its goal to provide technology-based flexible English language education and entrepreneurship classes in rural India, Hewlett Packard signed a memorandum with e-learning content company Liqvid Monday, an official said. Liqvid specialises in the area of English language training through its unique bilingual English edge software on the HP Lab-in-Box network also known as Tatkal Kaksha. \"Tatkal Kaksha and HP Life e-learning is an initiative started by HP to bring mobile computing resources to remote and urban schools in India by training students and aspiring entrepreneurs, so the partnership will helps us achieve this goal in rural India,\" said Jaijit Bhattacharya, director, South Asia, HP. Since HP Life e-learning began in 2007, over 25,000 businesses have been started or expanded and 57,000 jobs created worldwide. \"As part of its Vision 2020 plan, the government is looking to increase the gross enrolment ratio in schools to 30 percent by 2020. Such innovative technology solutions will play a vital role in enabling this increase in a cost-effective and sustainable manner,\" said Vivek Agarwal, managing director, Liqvid eLearning Services.
