The Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday hosted the competitive tests that are held for applicants to work at the United Nations for 32 new graduates from the Middle East and North African countries, including 18 Emirati graduates, at the Foreign Ministry's Office in Dubai.
A circular has been sent to all government universities to encourage Emirati graduates to take advantage of this opportunity, after being asked to apply for jobs at the United Nations via their website. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been hosting the tests since 2010.
The UN Secretariat is looking for competent people and provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment in diverse functions in support of global issues.
United Nations' employees should support the organisation's principles and its core values, including integrity, professionalism, efficiency and respect for diversity. It welcomes job applications from nationals of all member states and strongly encourages women to apply for placings. The United Nations considers job applications submitted by people with disabilities in full compliance with the Charter of the United Nations
