
The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) of Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), will welcome prospective students and guests to an open house here February 18.
The event will be held from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the Awsaj Academy in Education City.
It will inform attendees about TII's master's programmes, provide an opportunity for visitors to the open house to learn more about the academic pursuits of current graduate students and career trajectories of TII alumni.
TII currently offers two master's programmes, an MA in Translation Studies (MATS) and an MA in Audiovisual Translation (MAAT).
The MAAT program trains specialists in the mediation of audio visual texts, both for foreign-language viewers and sensory impaired audiences; the MATS curriculum focuses on translation within the sectors of media, business and commerce, science and technology, literary translation, and translation for international organizations.
HBKU is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF).
