
HH Sheikha Moza, who is the Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, issued Friday a decision appointing Dr. Ahmed Hasnah as President of Hamad bin Khalifa University.
Hasnah joined Qatar Foundation in 2002 where he helped develop the organization in his capacity as Head of Academic Affairs. In 2014, he became Associate VP for Higher Education at Qatar Foundation.
Hasnah played an important role in attract leading academics to Qatar Foundation, whether in Texas A&M, Georgetown University Carnegie Mellon University, Northwestern University or University College London. He also participated in laying down the strategies of WISE initiative.
The new Hamad bin Khalifa University President has a Ph.d in Information Technology from Illinois University's School of Information Technology. He got his University degree in Math and Physics from Qatar University in 1990.
