Science students and teachers from the UAE University recently went on a field trip to Dibba.
The trip was part of the four-day applied geoscience exploratory winter camp 2015.
Dr Khaled Al Blushi, head of the geology department and camp supervisor, said the activity aims to provide students with skills related to field work and practical application of geological surveys.
The students were split into two groups, with one group studying rocks and fossils in the valleys and mountains.
The second group looked into the geological compositions in the area and the mineral composition of rocks.
Dr Al Blushi said these studies will help students to draw a geological map for the area.
