
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser el Kady said the political determination exists to turn Egypt into a leading IT country.
Information technology will play a big role in boosting the national economy in the period to come, added Kady while addressing a meeting of the Communications and IT Committee of the House of Representatives Monday, with Singaporean Ambassador in Cairo Premjith Sadasivan attending.
The Egyptian official said technological centers will be established in new smart cities in the coming period that will host training and scientific research centers.
Egypt seeks to benefit from the Singaporean experiment in the IT field, he said, adding Singapore is among the four leading countries in technological industries.
