Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Araby held talks on Thursday evening with US State Secretary John Kerry on the sidelines of a summit on countering violent extremism that was hosted by the White House over two days.
The talks took up several issues related to fighting terrorism and extremism, said Araby in statements after the meeting.
He added that the foreign ministers who took part in the summit reached an agreement on adopting an all-out strategy for fighting terrorism.
Fighting terrorism, he added, will not stop at the military aspect only, though important, but will cover also other intellectual and cultural aspects.
Araby also met with United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon for talks on means of fighting terrorism.
