An extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the permanent delegates’ level will take place on Tuesday to discuss the worsening humanitarian conditions in the Syrian city of Aleppo, Kuwait’s Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Ahmad bin Abdel Rahman al Bakr said.
The session will be held upon Kuwait’s request in light of the consultations it had with Arab member states, Bakr said, noting that the request was officially backed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia, the UAE and Bahrain.
The council will probe the deteriorating conditions in Aleppo caused by random airstrikes, barrel bombs and the siege of civilians, he added.
