
Egypt's Ambassador to India Hatem Tag el Din has met with Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The Egyptian diplomat reviewed the latest developments in Egypt's economy and the mega projects which are being implemented topped by the Suez Canal axis development project, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
The development of economic ties between Egypt and India led to the increase in the volume of trade to five billion dollars last year and to the increase of Indian investments to Egypt to 2.5 billion dollars, he added.
The Egyptian government is keen on luring more foreign investments to Egypt to make use of the available investment opportunities, he said.
The Indian minister, for her part, said that she will work on boosting economic and investment ties between Egypt and India.
She also hailed efforts exerted to promote bilateral economic ties and Egypt's keenness on overcoming the obstacles facing Indian investments.
The minister also welcomed Egypt's investments in India in light of New Delhi's keenness on luring more investments.
