
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa along with a high-level delegation left here Saturday for al Madinah al Munawwarah in Saudi Arabia on a four-day visit.
The visit came in response to an invitation by Saudi Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz.
In pre-departure statements, Gomaa said that he will hold talks with a number of Saudi officials on ways of coordinating religious cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia to confront terrorism.
He also said that the talks will deal with ways of boosting ties in the various religious spheres.
Gomaa and his accompanying delegation will visit first al Madinah al Munawwarah and then will head for Jeddah to hold talks with his Saudi counterpart and a number of Saudi officials on boosting bilateral ties.
