Egypt's Ambassador to Japan Ismail Khairat met with the deputy chairman of car giant "Nissan" as part of embassy efforts to promote trade and investment ties.
Khairat hailed the performance of the Japanese car manufacturer in the Egyptian market as it topped the list of Japanese car companies in Egypt in the past period after its production surpassed 100,000 vehicles since establishing a factory in the country in 2005.
The Egyptian government is adamant to give a larger role to the private sector in pushing forward production and provide an atmosphere attractive to foreign investments, the Egyptian envoy said.
Meanwhile, the Nissan official affirmed that the company's factory in the Sixth of October City is working at full capacity. Nissan is seeking to increase its investments in Egypt, he said.
