
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit New York for five days from Saturday to attend the UN General Assembly and hold talks with other leaders, Kyodo News Agency reported Friday.
Abe is scheduled to address the assembly's 70th session on Tuesday and a UN summit Sunday where member states will adopt a post-2015 agenda for sustainable development, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a news conference.
Abe plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Suga said. He is also expected to meet with US Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday, according to the government.
Government officials added the premier is scheduled to hold separate talks with the leaders of Kenya, Qatar, Iran, Ukraine and Jordan.
