Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi has endorsed the enrollment of a new batch of volunteers, who will join the Armed Forces as of October 15.
Troops are the main pillar of combat efficiency, said director of the recruitment department Maj. Gen. Mohieldin Kamal Abdel Alim in a press conference Wednesday.
The recruitment department has outlined standards to endorse new batches of volunteers based on their medical, cultural, vocational and psychological levels, Abdel Alim said.
The army is seeking to recruit volunteers with preparatory education certificates, as well as graduates of industrial secondary schools, he made it clear.
The volunteers will be working with the border guard troops, Abdel Alim said.
