President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch of Police Academy students Wednesday.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, as well as President of the Police Academy Amr el Aasar, received Sisi upon arrival.
A number of ministers and former president Adly Mansour attended the ceremony.
Also present were Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese.
The national anthem was first played before Aasar took the stand to deliver a speech.
He welcomed President Sisi to the ceremony.
Aasar said it is an honor that the ceremony comes ahead of the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, slated for August 6.
It has been a year full of achievements, as well as sacrifices by police and military personnel, he told the audience.
Aasar voiced appreciation for Minister Abdel Ghaffar for supporting the work system at the academy.
