
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Thursday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the 45th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, said Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Alaa Yousef.
President Sisi briefed Merkel on the real developments in Egypt over the past two years.
Sisi pointed out that Egypt is approaching to hold parliamentary elections, the last step of the country's future road map adopted following June 30 revolution.
For her part, Merkel has shown understanding of the situation in Egypt and challenges facing the country.
She voiced optimism for the future of Egypt, stressing that Egypt's stability provides stability for the Middle East region.
The meeting tackled efforts exerted by the international community in face of terrorism.
