
Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi met in Carthage Palace German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his accompanying delegation who are currently visiting Tunisia.
The meeting took up means of promoting bilateral relations in various fields as well as boosting cooperation between Tunisia and the European Union (EU).
Steinmeier congratulated the Tunisian people on its success in resuming its democratic march, according to a statement issued by the media department of the Tunisian presidency.
He further stressed Germany's keenness on supporting the Arab country during this phase to create partnership between the two countries especially in the economic field.
The visit of the German top diplomat aims at enhancing the strategic ties between the two countries after the Revolution of the January 14, 2011.
