Neil Patrick Harris stars in 'AHS: Freak Show' preview

Neil Patrick Harris stars in a preview for American Horror Story: Freak Show.
The 41-year-old actor portrays a sinister magician named Chester who charms Bette and Dot Tattler (Sarah Paulson) upon taking ownership of the freak show. The footage also reveals Murder House and Coven actress Jamie Brewer will return in an unspecified role.
Harris will guest star as Chester on the next two episodes of the FX series, while husband David Burtka will appear on the season finale. The show is currently on midseason break, and will return with "Magical Thinking" on Jan. 7.
Harris is best known for starring as Barney Stinson on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. He recently portrayed Desi Collings in David Fincher's adaptation of Gillian Flynn novel Gone Girl, and Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway.
