Still form 'Twenty-Eight Nights and a Poem'
Cairo - Arab Today

Written and directed by Akram Zaatari, Twenty-Eight Nights and a Poem (Thamaniat wa ushrun laylan wa bayt min al-sheir) is an exploration of the role of the image in our lives.

The film will be screened in Zawya on Monday, 20 April, as part of the ongoing AFAC Film Week, an event that kicked off 16 April and will continue until 22 April.

This will be one of the first screenings of the movie which premiered earlier this year at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Forum where it won the Think:Film Award Special Mention.

Born in Saida, Lebanon, in 1966, Zaatari is an experienced director and producer known for works such as Letter to a Refusing Pilot (2013), a short which was nominated for a Tiger Award for Short Film at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2014. His short titled Tomorrow Everything Will Be Alright was nominated for a Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlinale 2011.

The screenings take place at Zawya at 6.30pm, Odeon Cinema, 4 Abdel-Hamid Said Street, off Talaat Harb Street, Downtown, Cairo.

The director will be in attendance.
