Los Angeles - Arab Today
What if on your next trip you met someone you would risk everything for just to get to know? In “Lost in Hotels,” a new novel by M. Martin, a debonair playboy named David meets journalist Catherine Klein at a glitzy rooftop pool in Rio. Their attraction is immediate and powerful as their worlds collide in a complex and conflicted romance.     Their relationship takes a sexual turn and Catherine finds herself meeting David regularly in some of the world’s most glamorous hotels and developing intense feelings for him, all while concealing the fact that she’s actually married. With every new rendezvous, Catherine becomes more entwined with David and less able to call off the relationship. “So many of our fears and inhibitions are connected to who we define ourselves as in our everyday life; when we go on vacation or to these incredible places like Catherine, it’s as if we become someone altogether different,” author Martin said. The novel also follows Catherine and David’s relationship through luxury hotels all over the world, based on author M. Martin’s life and professional experiences as editor of JetSetReport, a luxury travel website. Martin’s descriptions of remote Africa, posh English countryside and removed Italian hideaways help readers feel like they are travelers in these exotic locations usually out of reach for the everyday travellers. “Lost in Hotels” shares one woman’s taste of the good life and willingness to risk everything in order to have the man she always wanted, but also asks readers to examine the role of honesty in their relationships and what they’re willing to risk to have the life they always wanted.
