
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani left Tehran for Baku on Sunday to attend trilateral talks among Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan. Several high-ranking Iranian officials and cabinet ministers accompany President Rouhani during his two-day trip.
During the visit, President Rouhani is to confer with his Russian and Azeri counterparts on expansion of trilateral cooperation in commerce, energy, telecommunications, environment, fight against terrorism, transportation and transit of goods, according to Iran's (IRNA) News Agency.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Rouhani is to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In another meeting with his Azeri counterpart, President Rouhani is to follow up implementation of already reached agreements and bolstering cooperation in commerce, industry, energy, culture, banking, consular facilities and telecommunications, and railway transportation.
During the visit, some joint venture projects on industrial units taking advantage of Iran high tech are to go on stream.
