
President of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi on Sunday visited Wahat Al Karama (Oasis of Dignity) memorial, to honour UAE's martyrs and their sacrifices to defend the country and its achievements, in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Ali Musleh Al Ahbabi, the UAE Special Envoy to Yemen and Fahad Saeed Al Menhali, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the UAE, were accompanying President Hadi, who inspected the guard of honour and laid a wreath at the Martyr’s Memorial.
He then toured the Memorial and also visited the Pavilion of Honour, where he was briefed by Sheikh Tahnoun about the Pavilion that has names of the UAE martyrs and Quranic verses engraved on its mural.
Wahat Al Karama memorial covers an area of 46,000sqm and is located between the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces.
