The supreme board of the Al-Wafd party has declared on Wednesday night its support to Mansour Hassan, former minister of media and culture, in the presidential elections scheduled for May 23-24. Mohammed Kamel, member of the board, has held a press conference after the meeting and revealed that the board has voted to choose a candidate between Amr Moussa, Mansour Hassan and another candidate who he did not name, and that the majority voted for Hassan. Kamel stressed that the national interest is the main reason behind any of Al-Wafd\'s decisions. The news of Hassan\'s appointment followed initial rumours about Amr Moussa being the party\'s favourite. Meanwhile, an internal source revealed that the third candidate was Dr. Mohammed Selim Al-Awa.
