Abu dhabi - Arab Today

The Second Annual Conference on Enhancing Success Rates in ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) commenced on Friday at the St. Regis Corniche-Abu Dhabi with a large turnout of region’s doctors, experts, embryologists and technicians from the field of infertility treatments.

With over 400 attendees and 11 distinguished speakers from across the globe taking part in the sessions, IVI Fertility is the first institution to conduct a conference of this scale in the Middle East.

Objectives of the world-class conference are to bring forth clinical advancements and research in the field of ART, showcase unique approaches and treatments in reproductive medicine, as well as identify and address region specific challenges in infertility treatments.

This year’s conference is focusing on the major causes of infertility that challenge treatment in the region, new protocols in ovarian stimulation, female fertility preservation, ovarian rejuvenation and other insightful presentations that can help achieve excellence in ART.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, the patron of the event, and Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) also attended the opening session of the conference.

Sheikh Nahyan addressed the gathering saying, "Our goal in the United Arab Emirates is to be innovative in improving all aspects of the health of our families and their children. We strive to employ the most advanced technologies and to implement the most effective treatments and cures. Abu Dhabi, in particular, is moving forward with ambitious plans to strengthen medical services available to children and families."

It is the participants' good fortune to live in the twenty-first century marked as it is by stunning scientific advances that offer infinitely more hope than ever before. Nonetheless, the wonders of science become wonderful to them only when they enable a pregnancy, a pregnancy that to them has proved frustratingly impossible. Their hope may be one of the most intense hopes known to human beings," Sheikh Nahyan added.
